The city of Rawalpindi is built together with Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and has more than 2 million inhabitants. The working area of our project covers the Punjab province and the Hazara Division of the Khyber Pakhtoon Khwa (KPK) province with more than 90 million people. More than 95% of people are Muslims, approx. 2% are Christians.
Currently there are three sisters working in medical and educational projects.
- Sr. Dr. Chris, a medical doctor, in the country since 1988, responsible for the medical projects
- Sr. Sonja, a social worker, working in Pakistan since 2014, responsible for the educational/social support project
- Sr. Annette, an agricultural engineer, in Pakistan since 1997, working in administration
For around 40 – 45 years Sr. Katrin and Sr. Adelheid worked and developed projects in Rawaplindi until they retired and returned to Germany.
The goal of our work in Pakistan is to demonstrate God’s love and care for his children in practical ways. Deeds of love for the poorest of the poor are a Christian testimony. We also want to support the Christian minority by enabling their children to become mature and responsible followers of Christ within a difficult society and culture, bearing witness to God’s transforming power and love.
